I will continue to research our OLD FAMILY on this site. The number of related (and interesting) documents may exceed the capacity of this site. Soon I will have a internet site to "park" and store these documents which visitors to this site can access, download, and print for their own records. (look for this soon!!!)
The "storage site" will make this "theoldfamily.com" site easier and faster to download. The censuses for example should include a blank copy so that we can understand the questions asked on them. To do this requires more computer space than this site can handle and still download fast. In addition, I will make several cd/dvd's for those who would be interested in our family history/genealogy. (I'll have them available at this year's OLD FAMILY REUNION on Sunday, August 26, 2012. See "Announcements and Events" page for more information on our reunion!!!
The domain name (theoldfamily.com) and this web page are secured for another year. Everything is secured and "backed up" to prevent lost. This site, weebly.com, has great protection for this material and I will continue to subscribe to this site. Research esp. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania may take some time to realize good results. We plan a visit this Spring, but I'm sure that many visits will be required to complete a satisfactory picture of the many lifetimes of the Old Family in that city. (Keep in mind that we still work, we are of the "boomer" generation and we are NOT done "booming"!!) I keep records of the phone numbers, emails, research centers etc. related to our family genealogy. These resources need to be listed and explained on this site as well.
So, there is still a lot of to be accomplished on our "theoldfamily.com" site and I enjoy making it possible. I still dedicate this site to encouraging attendance to our OLD FAMILY REUNION. If this site can bring attention to how family reunions can be so important, then it's a success! Through this glimpse into the lives of our family (genealogy), we know that a "much more impressive tale ... can be told by their descendants"... you and me, at our family reunions. "Knowing a few faults and virtues of our family, we appreciate what they and others of their generations have done for us" (Lily Lee Nixon) May the OLD FAMILY REUNION gives us wisdom knowing and appreciating what the generations of our ancestors have given us and may it continue for generations to come!
