For some time now I have wanted to work on what I call the Family Letters of the Lee Family. These letters were found in the archives of the Heinz Museum & Library where the descendants of Lily Lee Nixon donated them. (see the page "Papers of Lily Lee Nixon" for her family history.
So, now is the time to put these letters on this site for all of us to see, study & appreciate what genealogy the Lily Lee Nixon family left to their descendants, including you & me.
On the page "Latest Documents" you will see two letters. One, the original "typed" Mary Lee letter on the Great Fire of Pittsburgh in 1845. Written to her brother & wife, James & Charlotte Barker Lee who were living in Camden, New Jersey. The 2nd letter is written by William Wright Jr. (this would be the son of Elizabeth Lee who with her brother came to the USA in 1796. Elizabeth married William Wright. William Wright Jr who was successful in America). This letter from William Wright Jr is written from Philadelphia on Feb5th,1850 to his "cousin" James Lee, now living in Pittsburgh. These letters from the Archives of the Heinz Museum & Library, Pittsburgh, number around 35.
I also posted the 1935 Lee Family Reunion photo. Compare this photo & the home to our modern day photos of the same house.
