After working on this site lately, I find that the "embedded document" (from Scribd) is back working again. It could be that weebly.com (the host site) found a solution to get the feature back working. I hope it stays working, however I'll keep using imbedit.in for document viewing for now.
I hope to find another great date in August next year for our reunion. I would like to make early reservations for "the other" shelter house. My guess is everyone will like it too and the easy parking as well. Also, I would like to start early in the morning, say 9am and have a pancake breakfast as well. With electricity and a refrig., coffee and juice would be easier. Maybe then, the whole family would find time to come out throughout the day! So far these are just thoughts. (Most important about our reunion, is to keep it simple.) Any help or ideas out there, would be appreciated.

Today I posted on the "Latest Document" page, the Allegheny Cemetery records of the James Old family grave sites. James Old was born Nov1818 and died 7March1907. It was James Old who married Mary Lee and gave us the first, James Lee Old. What is interesting to me is the fact that his dad (our great-great-great grandfather) is also buried in the "Old" family plots. The other interesting find is the grave sites of both Mary Old and Martha J Old. There is another Mary E Old buried as well, maybe she is the sister of James Old or the wife of his father. All of the dates are interesting. Some death certificates and a visit to the cemetery is planned.
It is amazing how helpful the internet can be, I found the "Sam Sloan Document" and this document substantiate a lot of information on the Lee/Old family and is very well written, Sam Sloan put a lot of work into it. Also it adds a lot of new information on the lives of the Lee family. The document constantly refers to "the Lee family" paper, I think this is our Lee Family History paper. Check it out on the "latest document" page, or the "Sam Sloan's Big Combined Family Trees" site itself. (www.anusha.com/pafx.htm)
As I said in the previous blog, I am pretty sure I found the location of the graves of James H. Old and his wife Mary Lee (our great-great grandfather). They can be found in the Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The web site is: webcemeteries.com/allegheny/webcem/name_results.asp The site lists many of the Old children as well as James H. Old. Interesting, the dates fit and both a Mary Old and Martha J Old are listed. So it may be that Mary Lee did indeed die at a young age, 1829 - 1850 (22), and then James Old married Martha. I've sent for the death certificates and I would like to find the marriage records. Finally, Pittsburgh is only a four hour drive from Charleston, WV. Sooooooooo a Fall trip is planned ... James H. Old, born 1818 - died 1907 Mary (Lee) Old, born 1829 - died 1850 Martha J Old, died 1886 Finally, check out the Reunion photos on the "photo page", they are way down at the bottom of the screen. Recent research of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania Cemeteries (United Cemetery) may have found the grave site of James H. Old, his father, Sr., and Mary Lee as well. webcemeteries.com/allegheny/webcem/name_results.asp.
On this site I found many grave sites of his family, namely: Anna J Old, Elizabeth Old, Ethel V Old, Fannie B Old, James Old, Jr.&Sr., and Mary Old. They all seem to be in one lot of graves: Section:12 Lot:39 Grave1. You can see the internet site for yourselves at the above internet address. Now I need to verify these graves, order some death certificates and then plan a trip to Allegheny Cemetery for myself. I also found on the internet, "Sam Sloan's Big Combined Family Trees". www.anusha.com/pafx.htm I am in the middle of typing what I found on this site related to the Lee family. After typing, I'll also summarize the findings. Look for this soon ... There is lots of information that verifies our findings, papers, etc. and also has new information on the Lee family life. The "Sloan" internet site is big, but also has lots on our Lee family. Check it out ... Not to "show off", try the "cut and paste" technique on the above internet sites. Simply highlight with the cursor the address and hit Ctrl C and then place the cursor line on the search line at the top of the screen and hit Ctrl V, now hit return. It's neat. After a wonderful Old Family Reunion, I finally got around to posting a few more family photos as well as the photos from the reunion. (upper left hand corner with cursor find "play slideshow")
The reunion was a success, with a great turnout, park location, and wonderful cool weather. We did get to see once again Aunt Jean & Uncle Bud and celebrate his birthday with a beautiful birthday cake. Also goto: winkfash.com, username= old, password= oldold. This site has 10 years of Old Family Reunions photos. Check it out, it's neat. |
