I added our/my Grandfather's grave site to the "GRAVE MARKERS" page. I also added him to the findagrave.com web page. It's taken a life time to visit this grave! I'm glad I found it, Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio, Section 22 Plot 89, along the fence line of Jackman Rd., Toledo, Ohio.
I have to find some way to post all the Papers of Lily Lee Nixon. I thought a off-site internet storage site would work, but I need to do more research on such sites. (any help would be appreciated:
firstname.lastname@example.org) I've tried to make these web pages an open resource on our family genealogy. All of it can be downloaded and copied. I also will make DVDs of all my files and have them at our Old Family Reunion - Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Providence Park, near Grand Rapids Ohio. (see "Announcements & Events" page).
I want to post each letter and see what we can find in them together! The Papers of Lily Lee Nixon also included photos. I posted the photos of Richard Lloyd and more photos of Allegheny Cemetery and our 13 family grave sites. The next photo is untitled, no names. It is a great photo of someone in the Lee Family and is called the "wagon with goat, c1865" photo! I would like to think it's James Lee & his wife, Charlotte. Do the dates add up? Who knows. I posted the photo on the "Photo Page".
Besides the William Wright letters, look for more information on the James Lee Old/Joy Belle Woodard genealogy. I also have more information on the "Our Lee Family" papers. I set up an easier contact form. We need addresses to mail date/time of our Old Family Reunion and we need to "get the word out" for this year's reunion date/time/place. Contact me...it's painless...lol
Old Family Reunion date set: Sunday, August 25, 2013, Providence Park, Grand Rapids, Ohio. Check out the "Announcement & Events" page.
I downloaded ALL 112 pages of the Lily Lee Nixon Papers, from the Senator John Heinz History Center's Archives & Library, Pittsburgh, PA. I hope that if any of these papers are "published" that we reference them to this to this credit. It's important!! We do have permission to publish them. Once again, we are fortunate to have this resource on our ancestors. These letters give fantastic insight into their lives, sadness & happy times. Also they are easy to read, our Lee ancestors were very educated. The Civil War letters are written by Richard Lloyd, the son of Eliza Lee & Elishan Lloyd. The "photo page" has photos of Richard Lloyd.
